ABOUT CHURCHES IN THE COUNTRY:

Who We Are . . .

We are Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rockwell City, Iowa and Trinity Lutheran Church, Knierim, Iowa. We are “Churches In The Country”. We are sister congregations of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. We have been joined together, as a dual parish, since August of 2003; walking together in the blessings of our Lord Jesus Christ’s grace, mercy and peace. Our pastor is the Reverend Chadric A. Dietrich, who has shepherded our two congregations since the time we were joined together.

Here at Immanuel and Trinity, Jesus gathers His people around God’s Holy Word: to proclaim it in worship, to hear it proclaimed and to study it; that we would not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it. In our two congregations Jesus also gathers us around His Sacraments: Baptism, Communion, and Confession and Absolution (forgiveness). Through the water and Word of Holy Baptism, the (Holy Trinity) God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost claims us as His own dear children, calling us by name and bringing us into His kingdom. Through Holy Communion, which we celebrate every Sunday, Jesus gives us His holy precious body and blood for us Christians to eat and to drink, for the forgiveness of our sins, proclaiming His life, death and resurrection to us until He comes again. In Confession and Absolution, both private and corporate, we hear the forgiveness of sins spoken to us by the pastor, not doubting, but firmly believing that by it our sins are forgiven before God in heaven.

It is through these means of grace that God comes to us and is with us (Immanuel). He calls us by the Gospel, enlightens us with His gifts, sanctifies and keeps us and the whole Christian Church with Jesus Christ in the one true faith.

We invite you to join us, that together we might be strengthened and kept firm in His Word and faith until we die.
